Amazon.com Product Description
A must-have accessory for any well-loved kitchen, this classic teakettle not only looks beautiful on the stovetop, but it also quickly boils up to 2 quarts of water at a time--great for anything from instant coffee, tea, or hot cocoa to instant noodles, soup, or baby formula. The unit's polished stainless-steel exterior and shiny copper base ensure fast heat-up times and long-lasting performance, while its retro-style stay-cool phenolic handle offers a comfortable grip for safe pouring. Best of all, the kettle's whistle alerts to when water has reached a boil, which means other tasks in the home can be attended to or a visit with friends more thoroughly enjoyed--no need to stand at the stove waiting for the water to boil. The teakettle measures approximately 8 by 8 by 7-3/4 inches.

Customer Reviews

Works nice, but could use some improvement4
I think this teakettle was designed a bit nicer than the other brand kettle with the copper bottom. After using it a while, it doesn't seem to get calcium build up much, but then again it's hard to tell to look inside the pot. I wish there was an easier way of filling up the pot to the proper max water level. If you overfill too much, the whistle won't work, it will just boil water out. Maybe a center cap to open to see the water level, and clean inside. Otherwise I have to lay the pot on the stove and see if the water is below the bottom of the spout. It does boil very quick with the copper bottom compared to an older keattle we had, with no metallic taste.

Paula's Teakettle from Amazon5
The Paula Dean name certainly helped me make the choice of this product (tea kettle) and the desire for a whistling one cinched it. It arrived on time for Christmas gift giving and was an immediate hit. The copper bottom was another selling point and I find it easy to clean and maintain. The handle is comfortable and easy to use. Overall an excellent product!

Whistle Fell Out But Otherwise Fine4
I enjoyed using this kettle but after four months the whistle insert fell out of the lid. It had apparently been glued or otherwise attached and could not be re-attached or snapped back in so I had to return the item. But it worked well otherwise and is a nice looking item. The only other "issue" is that I also warn users to be very careful when they open the spout to pour the water. No matter how careful you are a small drop or two of hot water will pop out and it burns! I became very proficient at opening it to avoid that. And if I didn't really need a whistle it would have been fine without one.
